Hello and welcome to my gallery! My name is Jonathan Brier and I am a young  artist based in North Wales. I have studied art all my life but have only recently started to show, sell and exhibit my work. I am currently being represented by The Reynolds Gallery  in Shrewsbury.

My portrait work tends to be tighter, more realistic and quite traditional but I am more than happy to produce a piece of art that is more informal, similar to my personal work.

  I use good quality photographs and reference for my work and the same applies to your portraits. Often a small selection can be helpful to get a good feeling of the subject and to give the piece the best grounding. I take my own photos for my original work but i am happy to use clients referance if i feel that they are of a suitable standard to work from.  I can also come to you for a sitting if you would prefer, this tends to give the most creative results.

  Art is an organic process and this is important in all aspects of producing a piece. However to give you some idea of time scales I find a month is about a good time to get a head/shoulders piece in oil finished with a little standing time in order to re-assess and finalise a piece.

  My prices start at £300 for a head/shoulders in oil on canvas board. I find that scale and the many variations available make it easier for you to tell me what you want and then I can offer you a quote based on your requirements rather than a rigid pricing strategy.
